Everything here reminds you of Greece. Small cozy tavern in the typical Greek style. Appetizer platter very tasty and the lamb chops and the wild potatoes a dream.

The gyros was great, but there was also a plate of salad. Which just contained loads of green lettuce leaves, with olive oil. The restaurant could have saved the salad ...

Very nice boss who also prepares the food herself. The food tastes very authentic and is of high quality - you can see and taste that. In terms of price, a bit higher, but this is justified by a lush, delicious salad with many dishes. Clear recommendation.

At Maria you already feel like a regular guest when you are not yet at all. The Diogenes tavern is a hospitable place with a warm hostess, to whom one always likes to return. The food and drinks are perhaps not at the star level, but you get hearty home-style cooking that fits the ambience and is extremely fairly priced. The portions are large, as you would expect from grandmother - I think so far nobody should have left the tavern hungry. Especially the fish dishes are worth trying. We are always happy to be with Maria and are happy to have her in the neighborhood.

Very unfriendly service, long waiting times, not recommended. There are many other options where you can spend a nice evening. Too bad.

I don’t know what previous visitors tasted but we definitely did not enjoy anything close to a 4-star meal. The owners are nice but clueless, the interior tacky and only topped by the extremely bad food. The best was the salad, also taking the least amount of preparation by the cook. The gyros was overfried, very thin strips of meat/fat. The bifteki were previously frozen and then reheated. This was obvious due to the meat being extremely dry and hard in places, the grilled vegetables drenched in oil, the wild potatoes are from the deep freeze and already seasoned. To cover up the bad cooking and amount of oil used, great helpings of some ominous red sauce are ladled everywhere onto the food. If the review does not convince you that no real cooking goes on in this place and you had better spend your money literally anywhere else, one of party was sick soon after we left the restaurant. Yes, the helpings are big but this is only achieved by throwing a bunch of lowest quality food on the plate, trying to conjure flavour with lots of oil and dry-frozen spices spread unimaginably onto the pre-cooked and reheated food. The helpings fill up hungry visitors, thus leaving them with the feeling of having had a good deal but with that amount of fat in your food, it would be hard not to feel full afterwards.

Lucky me to have stumbled into this place and have had one my most favorite meals (Braised Lamb Shank) cooked to perfection with the right blend of spices. Also, adorable restaurant owners. My first 5 star rating :)
